The Tunnel “Al Nafak”
Bitter Life, Salty Dreams Twenty families were internally displaced from three Syrian cities — Aleppo, Homs, and Damascus — due to the conflict, and sought shelter in an unfinished tunnel along the seafront of Tartous. The families became residents of the tunnel! The tunnel is a true metaphor for Syria — a country passing through a dark tunnel, with no clear end in sight
