In Syria, someone dies every ten minutes due to the war. But what if one of the dead came back to life? "Who decides whether you're alive or not?" This existential question haunts schoolteacher Firas Mohammad, who shocks everyone by returning to life three years after being officially declared dead. Firas begins his journey to reclaim his identity, only to find that the law requires him to return the compensation money paid to his family upon his death—before he can be considered alive again and regain his job. The film moves between fiction and documentary, drawing us into the question: Is this real, or a simulation?
